Why use aragonite in the aquarium?
Aragonite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate mineral. It is precipitated from the ocean surface waters mainly by organisms (for example, coral) that use it to create their shells and skeletons. With aragonite in the aquarium, you can be reasonably sure that the pH of the system will never drop below 7.7-7.9.
